Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Emergnt Media collects through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the DPDP Act).
Who we are
Emergnt Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a brand-solutions studio based in Pune, India. We own and operate this website, emergntmedia.com. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, we are the Data Fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy.
If you have any question about this policy or your data, you can reach us at support@emergntmedia.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in the enquiry form on our contact page, we collect the details you choose to submit:
- Your name and the company you represent.
- Your email address, so we can reply.
- The services you are interested in and an indicative budget range.
- The message you write about your project.
If you email us directly, we also receive whatever information you include in that correspondence.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we collect limited technical information when you visit, such as pages viewed, approximate location (derived from your IP address, not your precise location), the referring page, and basic device and browser details. This is gathered through analytics and standard server logs, and we use it in aggregate to understand how the site is used.
Cookies and local storage
We use Google Analytics on parts of this site to measure traffic and improve content. Google Analytics sets cookies that help it recognise returning visitors and estimate audience numbers. We also store a small preference in your browser's local storage to remember whether you chose the light or dark theme; this never leaves your device and is not used to track you.
You can refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on. Blocking these does not affect your ability to use the site or contact us.
How we use your data
We use the information above to:
- Respond to your enquiry and discuss a possible project.
- Provide and deliver services you engage us for, and keep in touch about them.
- Understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
- Keep the site secure and prevent misuse or spam.
- Meet any legal or regulatory obligations that apply to us.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Our basis for processing
Under the DPDP Act, we process your personal data on the basis of your consent — given when you submit the enquiry form or write to us — and, where applicable, for the legitimate uses the Act permits, such as responding to a request you have voluntarily made. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Your rights below); doing so does not affect processing that already took place while your consent was valid.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers that help us run this website and our business, and only to the extent they need it. These act as Data Processors on our behalf:
- Web3Forms — delivers your contact-form submission to our inbox. See the Web3Forms privacy policy.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) — measures website traffic. See Google's privacy policy.
- Netlify — hosts this website and processes standard server logs. See the Netlify privacy policy.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety, or property. Some of these providers operate outside India, which means your data may be processed in other countries; we rely on their own safeguards and the protections the DPDP Act allows for such transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and correspondence data for as long as needed to respond to you and, if we work together, for the duration of our engagement and a reasonable period afterwards for our records and legal obligations. Analytics data is retained for a limited period in line with Google Analytics' standard settings. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we have processed it.
- Correction and updating of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erasure of your personal data where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it.
- Grievance redressal — raise a concern with us about how your data is handled.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
To exercise any of these, email us at support@emergntmedia.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
How we protect your data
This site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other sites
Our website and case studies may link to sites we do not operate. This policy does not cover those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here, so we encourage you to review this page periodically.
